May 26, 2021 - Day Seven, Flight One, Part Two
Flying Pariah River

The Pariah River flows from the north part of Bryce Canyon southeast down to the Colorado River at Lee's Ferry, so almost immediately I was on the river.

Passing by the little town of Cannonville

Descending to the river, or river bed, take your pick.

Looking northeast.  Last Chance Creek, which I flew yesterday, is out there somewhere.

Looking southwest.

A very nice-looking canyon appears ahead.

A side canyon off to the right.

Looking back the way I had come.

And straight ahead -- starting to get very scenic.

I start weaving over the canyon.

Fabulous.

The only way to really see something like this is from the air.

Continuing down the Pariah River.

Wow.

The canyon opens up.

The colors are unbelievable.

Passing by a colorful Butte.

Beautiful.

The Pariah River merges with this canyon coming down from the north.  I remember flying it back in 2016.  It was fun then, so I decide to do it again and turn to the north.

I think this is called Cottonwood Canyon and features a stone wall on it's right (east) side.

Looking down at where the Pariah River joins Cottonwood Canyon.

Now heading north into the Cottonwood Canyon.

This huge yellow rock is named .... "Yellow Rock".

A colorful side canyon called Hackberry.

Natural art.

Cruising up the canyon although now it is named Cottonwood Canyon.

I emerge into this high valley.  I make a big U-turn.  Little did I know that the famous Grosvenor Arch is just to the right in the distance.  If only I had known, I could have easily checked it out.  Oh well, I'll just have to fly back here again someday.

Another creek and canyon was visible to the southeast but it didn't look too colorful so I just headed back down Cottonwood.

About to dive back down into Cottonwood Canyon.

Colorful.

Looking up at the East wall.

The west side of the canyon.

There is a dirt road that runs up the lower half of the canyon but these are the only vehicles I saw.

I rejoined the Pariah River and continued south.
